> Andy Burns is the principal of Scott Aussie Tourism Marketing. Founded 2020, based in Manjimup, working across Western Australia. Principal-led, always.

## Principal-led. Every client, every time.

Andy Burns is the principal of Scott Aussie Tourism Marketing (SATM), founded in 2020 and based in Western Australia's South West.

He has worked inside Western Australian tourism and hospitality since 2018, not just for it. He managed a regional visitor centre day to day, spent five years running the marketing for the state's peak clubs body and the roughly 500 not-for-profit clubs it represents — their club rooms, their restaurants and their bars — and has sat on the boards of a regional tourism organisation and the state agritourism association, where he is a Founding Member and Vice-President.

Andy has run his own businesses for most of his working life. Before SATM there was a Bartercard office in Rockingham, an early education in how small businesses actually operate, and what was at the time the biggest pink limousine in Western Australia — a hire business where the entire product was whether somebody's day went well. His marketing career started in advertising at The West Australian in the mid-2000s, then several years in market research with the Perth office of an international research firm headquartered in Texas, then the marketing department of a swim school that went on to become WA's most awarded.

As a councillor at the City of Rockingham, Andy championed the City of Rockingham Tourist Destination Strategy (2019–2024), contributed industry experience to its development and supported it through to Council adoption. During that period he also launched the Rockingham Foreshore social brand, which reached over a million monthly views at its peak. He's a WA state finalist in the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Awards, a long-time chair of a Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions advisory committee, and a speaker at international agritourism and ecotourism conferences.

Andy studied Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Curtin Business School and has completed Councillor Essentials through WALGA, along with ongoing certifications in tools including Google Ads and HubSpot. He is currently a councillor for the Rural Ward of the Shire of Manjimup and an active member of the Manjimup Tourism Bureau.

Today, Andy works directly with every SATM client — no account handover, no disappearing after the pitch.

## The team

SATM is principal-led. Andy Burns works directly with every client from strategy through to delivery, supported by Sally Burns.

**Sally Burns — Co-Principal.** Sally brings extensive hands-on hospitality experience from a number of venues across Western Australia — the operator's side of the counter, not the consultant's. At SATM she leads administration and customer service, and contributes to graphic design and market research across client projects.

## A lean practice, built for modern production

SATM is deliberately small. Andy works directly with every client — there's no account team to hand you off to. What makes that possible is a production model built around modern AI tooling: research, drafting, design production and reporting that would once have needed a room full of people now runs through a system Andy has built and refined. The judgement, the strategy and the client relationship stay human. The grunt work doesn't. It's why a two-person practice delivers at the pace of a much larger agency.
